The three drinks that cause premature aging
The health of your skin is not only affected by the products you apply to it daily, but also by what you consume.
An expert describes three drinks that cause inflammation in the body, one of the main causes of aging. One of them, in fact, most people consume on a daily basis.
Robert Love, a neuroscientist who specializes in Alzheimer’s prevention, said: “Number three was a real surprise to me because it’s generally considered healthy.”

Alcohol
Although studies have been published from time to time linking moderate alcohol consumption with some health benefits, its long-term health effects are generally not good.
“Alcohol ages your skin. The main way it does this is through dehydration. Alcohol dehydrates the body, so it dehydrates the skin and can make you look older. At the same time, it ages the brain, while it is harmful to the intestine and certainly to the liver. Alcohol disrupts the brain-gut connection and affects sleep. All this makes it extremely harmful to health,” says the scientist.
Soft drinks
Soft drinks are high in sugar, which raises your blood glucose.
Love explains that this could increase levels of inflammation, which is one of the main causes of aging in the body in general and the skin in particular.
“Not to mention diet sodas, which are even more damaging to health,” he adds.
Coffee
Although coffee has health benefits, including its contribution to brain and gut microbiome health, caffeine is a diuretic.
“Caffeine can dehydrate your body and skin and make you look older. I’m not saying to never drink coffee again. If you like coffee or drinks that contain coffee—and many of them are very healthy for the brain and body—make sure you drink plenty of water. This can ensure that the caffeine is healthy while helping your skin through hydration as well.”
